Standards and Values

Our commitment to core values and standards through Resolute Purpose and The Purpose Brief Editorial

Our Purpose

Resolute Purpose provides services that help strengthen civil society through strategic advisory to support purpose-driven organisations and responsible leadership.

We operate at an important intersection supporting organisations to align fundraising, strategy and stakeholder engagement with long-term public benefit with the ambition to help build greater trust.

The Purpose Brief is the home to values led writing which features blogs, essays and podcasts aimed at celebrating place, impact and the power of generosity through principled commentary, analysis and dialogue across sectors.

What We Mean by Social Good?

We define social good as the responsible pursuit of purpose-driven impact investment and philanthropy that enables charities and not-for-profit organisations to thrive. It covers the practice of fundraising and giving, broadly referred to as generosity and it celbrates connection and community.

We believe the creation of social good is no abstract thing but is grounded in:

  • Strong governance and visible leaderships
  • Ethical fundraising practice
  • Accountability for public benefit
  • Long-term impact over short-term optics

Our work aligns with the professional standards set out by the Fundraising Regulator and reflects the principles of the Charity Governance Code.

We believe trust is the foundation of civil society. Where money, influence and power intersect, clarity and scrutiny are essential.

We are not aligned to political parties but we do acknowledge positive work and may reflect on negative challenges and behaviours. We may examine systemic issues where they materially affect philanthropy, governance and social impact. Our position is principle-led and independent and we aim to convene experts who bring fresh thinking and introduce data informed reporting with trusted partners.
